Membership Information

Each TM club is unique and has its own personality. We suggest that you visit a couple if possible, feel for whether it is suitable for your purpose and your goals. Then join.

Both men and women can join.

Age, we are not all oldies. Most are still in pre-retirement age! One thing is for certain, that all are active in the minds and active in the community.

Launceston is a dynamic club. Quite relaxed and friendly in it nature.


Who makes up the membership of Toastmasters?

Basically we are from various walks of life. Some are professionals, students but all aiming to improve their communication and leadership skills.

All of us come into TM at different skill levels. Some (like myself) wanted to over come and control our fear of getting up in front of a group.

Some want to polish their skills, iron out some "not so good" habits which you cannot get rid of from short speaking courses.

Some, stay to develop their leadership skills by contributing back in helping to run the clubs.

Some, love going into competitions to challenge and sharpen their skills. To do the best they can.


Opportunities are endless. I certainly did not join TM to do anything more than try to get comfortable in speaking in front a group. Let alone run a semi-national convention or take on the Marketing role for the southern states of Australia.

The extended network of Toastmasters locally as well as world wide is just amazing. In over 90 countries now after over 80 years in running. I have met some of the greatest people through this network. Exceeding my expectations.



Membership for Launceston TM Club on 6 monthly basis:

There is a once off New Member fee:
A $45.


Above costs includes:
New membership kits. No not uniform! We are not like that at all.
Educational workbooks that includes your communication and leadership assignments, and guides.
Your membership fees includes a very helpful monthly magazine produced by International Head Quarters.
Membership also allows you to participate in contests, and other workshops when available.
